The School Counseling Program is the Society’s primary professional service program.
Staffed by 10 licensed social workers, the program provides counseling services to 16 schools in inner-city and inner suburban Catholic schools. Because of the level of expertise and training on the part of the Christ Child social workers, these financially challenged schools are able to receive high quality mental health services at no cost to the families receiving them. The School Counseling Program provided over 18,000 hours of counseling and support services to over 2,500 children last year. This program truly espouses the “see a need and fill it” mantra of the Society’s founder.
