Founder's Day

Founder's Day is an annual celebration of our founder Mary Virginia Merrick.

Held on a Sunday in April, Founder's Day is a wonderful occassion to come together to celebrate Mass and recognize outstanding members with awards.

The Mary Virginia Merrick Award is the highest award that the Society bestows. The person selected must be an active member of the Society, have served as a member of the Board of Directors or a Program Committee, and have given extraordinary service beyond the duties of the position held. The Advisory Committee at its annual meeting determines the recipient of the award.

Members of the Society give the Volunteer Cum Laude Awards every year in recognition of exemplary volunteer service. The individuals selected must be active members of the Society and have rendered extraordinary volunteer service. The Advisory Committee at its annual meeting determines the recipients of the award.

The Marge Kearney Award was established to recognize an Opportunity Shop volunteer who has shown exceptional dedication to the Shop over the years
