Student Success Program

The Student Success Program encompasses our volunteer efforts in local schools to help make children more available for learning and support their academic success. The Student Success Program provides services that include tutoring, transition support, early literacy, and adopt-a-school initiatives.

Tutoring and Transition

Tutoring is provided by volunteers who provide academic support in a variety of academic areas. Tutors commit to weekly sessions in our partner schools. Reading tutors are specially trained in a phonics based reading curriculum. Volunteers also help with high school and college transition work- assisting with essay writing and mock interviews.

Early Literacy (Book Bunch)

Book Bunch is an early literacy intervention for children 0-5. The goal of Book Bunch is to instill a love of books and reading in children by engaging them and their parents in activities revolved around books. Volunteers lead the children in book themed story time, play, crafts, dance, and song in schools and other community-based programs.

Adopt a School

The adopt-a-school initiative is an effort to provide material support to our partner schools. Our guilds (subgroups of members) meet a variety of needs for students such as uniforms, coats, sports equipment, field trip funding, classroom technology and sponsorship of special events.
